My name is Tess Oliver and I am the owner/groomer here at Best In Show.

I am a Shetland Sheepdog and Bedlington Terrier exhibitor and spend my free time traveling to dog shows. I am a member of the Shetland Sheepdog Club of South East Florida and the Bedlington Terrier Club of America.

I take part in several grooming compeititons throughout the year. I also attend seminars, trade shows, and work-shops as often as possible in order to continue my education and stay up-to-date on all of the latest products and styles.

While my passion for canines began as a child (my family photos included the dogs that we cherished), I did not begin my career with dogs until 2011 when I started working as a grooming assistant in a busy salon. I admired the groomers and their ability to make every dog look and feel their best. They were artists and magicians, and after a short time of working with them I wanted nothing more than to be that, too.

Once I finished grooming school, I worked at several different salons in order to expand my knowledge. I feel that in every field of work there is always room for improvement. I wanted to learn as much as I could from different groomers by observing them and taking a little bit of information from each one. I was blessed to always work with people that loved what they were doing, and enjoyed sharing their techniques to help me improve my own.

In 2014 I decided to move down south-- after all, you cannot move forward if you stay in the same place. Clients instantly loved me and my work, and two months hadn't passed before I had a steady stream of returning clientele. These clients, however, seemed different to me-- they were all as passionate about their pets as I was. I realized that my love for the dogs was attracting the kind of people that feel the same way I do: our dogs aren't just pets, they're our family.

I started Best In Show because I feel that every dog should feel like a champion. I want to provide a personal, one-on-one service that allows me to bond with the dogs and their owners. My goal is to run a business that I am proud of, that my clients trust, and that the dogs enjoy as much as I do.
